About Stubbs Cycles

A Salesman’s Salesman: Jerry Stubbs was a born salesman. When he landed his first job as a bread salesman in 1955, he rapidly became the top seller in his region. A few years later, he began peddling Yazoo lawnmowers. It didn’t take long for him to operate one of the largest Yazoo dealerships in the U.S. But Jerry Stubbs' love of motorcycles would get the best of him.

When Stubbs opened the doors of his small motorcycle shop in 1965, he only sold Suzukis. Then Harley-Davidson, and Honda. Before long, Stubbs Cycles was one of the largest and most respected dealers in Texas. By 1974, he had to triple the size of his building to accommodate the rapidly growing business.

Today, Stubbs as the oldest dealer in the Houston area, maintains a powerful reputation among motorcycle enthusiasts for a solid, steadfast commitment to quality and service.

The Legacy Continues: "Jerry Stubbs always had an exceptional ability to come out on top," says his wife, Jean Stubbs, who became president of the dealership after he passed away in 1982.

According to Jean Stubbs, Jerry’s motto was simple. "Take care of your customers and the business will take care of itself. Today, we still operate by the same philosophy and we’re proud to be referred to as "Houston’s friendliest dealer." Perhaps it’s because we began as a family-operated store and continue to do so today by carrying on the Stubbs family tradition."

"There have been many changes, but Stubbs Cycles maintains the same philosophy and values we had when the store opened over 35 years ago," says Hugh Sutton, General Manager and Jerry Stubbs' son-in-law. "We make sure a customer never has to wait more than 15 or 20 seconds before we approach them to learn their needs, and do whatever it takes to help them find the right motorcycle or ATV that best fits their budget and lifestyle. Not only can we provide them with the right product at the right price, we can also handle financing and insurance on the spot, so they can take their new purchase home today."

Sales

Since day one Stubbs' sales philosophy has been to be fiercely competitive in the Houston market. We constantly research the competition and strive to keep that competitive edge, so our customers can always count on the best deal and the best value. Plus, as one of the nation's largest Honda, and Suzuki dealers, we always have the best selection to choose from, so customers can get the motorcycle or ATV they want in the color of their choice with all the options they desire.

We have a fabulous selection of new and used bikes and ATV’s to choose from. In fact, Stubbs’ used bike department is one of the largest in Houston (larger than some entire dealerships). All used bikes are thoroughly checked and meticulously inspected to ensure a "like new" look and optimum performance.
